I hate when Celebs/Musicians get all puffed up with how great they are and rag on others. Elton J goes on about raising 150M dollars for AIDs efforts in Africa. Woopdy do. Bill and Melinda Gates foundation has billions in grants, you don't see them rushing around saying "you guys bite" to everyone else do you? Rant over. Well as far as wacky celebs go, he's 150M dollars ahead of most in the charity dept so he's earned some lattitude. Of course, nobody can touch the Bill and the Gates Foundation - even Warren Buffett agrees. Elton isn't in the same league.
Sorry for going a bit OT but a more interesting comparison would be Jobs vs Gates. Jobs vs. Gates: Who's the Star?
