Woman breaks neck on turbulent flight

OK, so you're on a turbulent flight. Beverage service has been suspended. Seat belt light remains on for the entire flight. Several announcements are made to urge passengers to remain seated due to the turbulence. You get up, go to the bathroom. You break your neck as you hit the ceiling in the bathroom when the plane drops and rolls. She doesn't remember the announcements. She would have, as she was traveling with people who don't speak English and had to translate.

You know she's suing. How many millions you think she's going to get?

when you gotta go....

hang on to the grab handle in the bathroom!

I have gotten up during turbulence many times. I understand the risk, and could never sue, because I would take personal responsibility. Something that is missing in 95% of the humans on the planet today, obviously.

When I was a kid, the person who slipped on the spilled milk in the grocery store would be told he should have paid more attention to not step in it. Today, they sue the store, the dairy and the cow!

...personal responsibility, self-awareness, risk understanding
and realizing life has potential troubles at every turn, seem to have
evaporated in this litigious society.

Hopefully not one cent. She knew that the seat belt light was lit.

I'm betting she'll get a pretty penny in a settlement, just so the airline doesn't have to go to trial.

Don't get me wrong, it's a shame she is paralyzed but they said on the news this morning that the preliminary TSA report said there were atleast 5 annoucements because people would not stay seated.

I was on a flight to Phoenix a few months ago that was so bad I said a few Hail of Mary's. Same thing happened. We were bouncing and dropping like crazy and still people were up and about.

Don't airlines carry insurance for passenger injuries?

You can call BS if you want to, but my personal belief is that there is an afterlife and we will all be judged on every thought, every action, every deed, and every time we don't practice love thy neighbor. All the money in the world will not matter for the next 100 trillion years of 'afterlife'. Eternity is a long time.
