Garage Door Help Needed
Greetings,
We're doing some work to our house and it involves redoing our garage with a bedroom for my mom above one of the bays. Obviously garage doors are noisy and cause vibration. I want to minimize things to the greatest extent possible. I know about using rubber washers when hanging the opener. I have also been told that hanging the door from a piece of steel that is hung from the roof of the garage will also help to limit vibration and noise. Does anyone else here have any suggestions or experience with this issue, or with either of these specific solutions? In fact, we will have 2 bedrooms above the garage, but I am most worried about mom's room. Has anyone tried the new type of door openers that do not use springs? One more garage question (this has been covered from time to time over the years, I know. What should I do with the floor, and where should I get some bang-for-the-buck cabinets? Any experiences would be greatly appreciated!!
