anyone on joint insurance and have your *half* make your rates go up
fccck...spotless record for 11 years...
missus just did a fender bender on the way home. since it's a joint policy, me wonders does it affect the driver or are we both *equally responsible*. |

You and the missus are calculated separately; the two calculations are totaled together to make up your joint policy premium. Of course, there is a discount for being married and carrying a joint policy, as married people typically drive less combined miles.
So because the missus got in a fender bender, her portion of the premium could result in an increase if she is found as the responsible party. |

Depends on a lot of factors and your insurance company. Many times the company will forgive the first claim if you're clean otherwise. I had never made a claim with my insurance, and I had a car stolen. They paid out north of $25k on that one and my rates didn't go up at all because I had no other claims and a clean record.
