Arrow Aston Martin Rapide Spy shots

CAR Online reader Simon Gregg has spotted Aston Martin's new Rapide testing undisguised in the UK. The new four-door Aston will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September, use the company's familiar 6.0-litre V12 with 470bhp and 443lb ft, and go on sale in early 2010.

As for the exterior and interior details, we'll leave that to reader Simon Gregg:

'I spotted the new Aston Martin Rapide on the M4 Westbound on Friday evening. This new addition from Aston Martin is most certainly going beat the Porsche Panamera in the style stakes! It has the same aggresive look of the Vanquish from the rear and even offers the appearance of being a two-door car, rather than a four-door when viewed from certain angles.

'The interior boasts a centre console which runs all the way through to the rear seating area - a strict four seater! The facia and interior door panels share the styling found in the current DBS and V8 range. Rear access is via a Vantage-style rear hatch, which will make loading up very easy.'

Looks hideous. Panamera>Rapide, and the Porsche isn't even that great looking.

No, that thing at the top left of the first pic has an ugly butt and the nissan cube has an ugly butt. Compared to those even my but looks ok!

But I think the Aston Martin looks pretty good for what it is.

I'm with Vig...looks like George Orwell's version of the politboro
limo.
I guess the garage butler cleans those wheels, but even
that wouldn't help, imo.
LM is TheMan for pics, however!

That's the first thing I thought when I saw this picture. Anyone know what car that is?

I think those photos are from strange angles or something because every other photo I have seen of this car looks amazing. It is much better looking than the Porsche, IMO. The wheels don't even look real, like it is a p-chop to be honest.

I agree with FSETH. On the OP's pictures, I would much rather take the Panamera over the Rapide. With the car show pictures FSETH posted, I would much rather take the Rapide over the Panamera.
