Interesting series of pics of MJ, over the years...
not sure one could ID him as the "same guy",
at the HS reunion, if you didn't know him.

Funny thing about that picture thing.
Lots of them being circulated but
they never make the connection that
even though he changed over time
(for what ever reason) The music
over that same period got better........

OK, the guy was an iconic singer. But why exactly did his story just trump Iran and N. Korea? I liked his earlier music, but don't really need to flip through every radio station playing his greatest hits.

As some folks put it he was an iconic singer and lot of folks
wanted to celebrate his musical accomplishments.

Contrary to popular belief though not every radio
station is playing his greatest hits. Not in Norcal
anyway. I for one enjoyed hearing the songs. It gave
me a chance to pause a listen again to the impressive
engineering that went into his music. That in an of itself
is a work of art.
Edit: this might make you feel better Googling for Argentine lover trumps Jacko, Farrah

Sad, surprising loss. Talent beyond compare. I like the old Thriller music and all the MTV videos. Despite his psychiatric short comlngs,
maybe insanity is genius afterall...

Pure genius, especially all his stuff in the eighties. Shame how such a wonderful and clever mind could turn a man into 'Whacko Jacko', what with reconfigurating his own face, deelings with minors and his portrayal of his own kids. At least they may now see the world as viewed by other 'normal' kids their same age, but then again maybe not.

MJ was summed up, albeit somewhat cruelly by a French writer with: For Herve Cannet of the La Nouvelle Republique Jackson was "neither black nor white; neither old nor young; neither child nor adult; neither man nor woman" but rather a "sort of androgynous imp".

Like other musical wonders before him like Elvis, John Lennon, etc etc we will miss him.

The world has lost a big talent in my opinion.

He led avery different, and maybe odd life, but there is little doubt about his genious, and the fact that he put the standard for pop music.

I would also like to put him among the top list of people that has made an impact on what the music sounds like today.

The guy has sold more then 700million albums..!! It's truly amazing.

Regarding the series of photos of MJ through time, his apperance changes in a very unnatural way, but no matter how different he looks, you can still see the little boy from the first picture in him...

R.I.P MJ.

I must say...i didn't expect to read this comment on a forum like this. You must either be a musician or involved in production work. I've been on the production end for almost 15 years and most recently more involved on the business end. I believe that if those that choose to remember MJ in a negative light, would open their creative minds and become more aware of the impact, immense work-ethic, perfectionism that became manifest in his music and in those in whom he inspired...these would perhaps see that the positive far overshadow the negative.

There's a double standard in that the media, when discussing such caliber artists as Elvis, fail to discuss his many imperfections or Sinatra, and his friends and associations. Ultimately, imo, do not matter as they also inhibited incredible talents and passions that affected masses...but NONE as of yet, the ability to affect the masses on the global scale MJ has.

If only today's current popular artists could provide a minutiae of what MJ put into his material, perhaps more consumers would purchase records and the industry could begin a potential rebound.

Quicksilver, is there a particular product or instrument that you major?
