Glad you're ok. Yes, please do post pics of the damage. Also, r u sure that was tire smoke in the cabin?? I believe it may have been the triggering gas from the airbags. I've been on scene at several airbag deployments where the same smoke and "burning" smell was present.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I've been up on Mt Rainer all week out of cell and data range. The total damage est is over $19,000 which is a total loss for a 2001. I'll be looking for another X5 for sure when I get back. I'm spending some time in Seattle until flying home.
