Out with the snow, on with the 19s!

OK, I had time this afternoon, so I made the switch. The 17s are in the garage awaiting a serious cleaning once I hook up the hoses in the next few weeks. The 19s are back on, and after a quick trip around the block, I can't say enough about how great the X is with the big rubber. The 20s are probably even better.

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, I can't stress enough how much help the wheel hangers are in putting on your own big rubber.

Thanks to Lee in Toronto for turning me onto the hanger.

I switched mine over yesterday to my 19" spring/summer/fall setup

I'll be stripping the old original Michey 'tars off my 18" Style 69's some time this summer and mounting a set of Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22's on for next winter. I got about 65K on the OEM Michey's, and could easily have gone another 10K I suspect. Great tires, for sure - but I'm looking forward to seeing how the dedicated snows work out next winter.

The LM-22s are great tires. had a set of 17s for my old Audi A6 4.2 and the thing was amazing in the snow. And the dry.

It's a sure sign of warmer weather to come when we've got our winter tires off for the season. Finally!

Cool tool there Rangerfan - that would have come in handy.

The wheel hanger is awesome. I've got 2 arms working for me again, and those 19s are still a PITA to mount. Those suckers are heavy and awkward!

same here! (I'm in SC)

While on the subject of tires: My right front need to be replaced. Do I also have to replace the left front? (I had a bad tear in it a few months ago, so I replaced it then... it's practically new -- maybe 10K miles on it.)
