Rollover Pics - Not our X5 (luckily)

Was t-boned last night by someone who ran a red light. It is speculated that she was texting because according to witnesses she didn't attempt to swerve or slow down. I saw her coming and laid on my horn, but it was too late and there wasn't anything that could be done. Hit me on the passenger side rear which spun the Jeep and send it crashing over onto the driver's side. Really happy that I had my seatbelt (they work great, you should check them out) and that an appendage didn't go out of my open window and get crushed. Although beat up I feel very lucky. I was very pleased with the structural integrity of the Jeep. Turned it off as soon as I had settled, had to push off the roof to release the belt tension and get unclipped and then climbed out through the open window. It absolutely came out of nowhere. Wear your seatbelts.

A newer Honda Civic. There didn't look to be all that much damage to her car - though she did hit me going about 35mph. There wasn't that much damage on the rear passenger door where she hit either, it just happened to spin me so all of the forward momentum I had going down the road was now going sideways down the road.

Glad to hear you are alright, or at least well enough to pass on your message about wearing your seatbelt.

I was in a rollover accident a while back, and have to agree with you that those seatbelts can do some amazing things when used. I also had to push off the roof to releive the tension on the belt enough to release it.

Wow, glad you're okay. That's the onramp to I-405 near PSU, I used to live on the other side of the hill in the background...

It happened at 13th & Clay. I was headed up Clay - that's the onramp for Hwy 26 right before the tunnels.

Yes, I am directionally challenged. I know that onramp well too since my office is downtown, the exposed aggregate rock (in the first picture) is very slippery when wet and I always seem to be sideways when making that right turn.

WOW! Small world, I was in that neighborhood last night and drove by and caught a glimpse of the aftermath. Glad to see you are alright. Didn't think it would be anybody here since there was no X5!
