Separate section for customer/vendor interaction?

I am one of new guys here, and am somewhat reluctant to start making suggestions on how this excellent board should work. You were doing quite well without me, I know!

However.....

It seems that some of the threads end up with large sections of them being essentially one on one communications between one of us (potential) customers talking about an order with vendors who frequent this board. I am actually glad the vendors do come here, because I not only learn about their products, but sometimes get some vibes about those I want/don't want to order from.

Still, would it not be a good idea to have a section of the board where new products are announced by the vendors, and those of us who wish to ask questions about new or old products can do so? We have done that on another board I moderate, with good reception by the members.

If this is felt to be a stupid idea, I promise not to mention it again. I am not slamming anyone, I promise. I just think it might be a good "housekeeping" thing to do, since the board is growing so well lately.

It's a good question and something that several vendors have requested. I have opened up a "Vendor Forum" on a trial basis to see how it works out. See http://www.xoutpost.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Thanks for the suggestion.

Jeff

p.s. - in my book, you are long past being new here

I think it's a good suggestion also.

Thanks Jeff for setting that up And I keep forgetting to tell you that you have a cool signature from the X5 Meet.
