Your preaching to the Choir my friend. Apple users already know about the issues regarding the devices and No one... Let me repeat "NO ONE" screams
louder than product users regarding apples products and decision
making.

I guess I must not run with the crowd you describe because i
Personally don't know of any iPhone users that act like Apple is being innovative when they do finally get a specific functionality.

But if your disturbed by what you call the ridiculousness and fanboydom then use whatever pleases you, I for one will not be offended by
your decision and I won't call other users out for using any
device of their choice.

Finally re: iPhone's in a corporate environment? My advice is
simple just use another device that suits the corporate
environment. It appears from your comment that Apple
doesn't care and the corporate CEO fanboys (as
you call them) don't either. Go figure. I guess they
been bitten by the innovation bug ......
This deserves another billy madison so i'm going to ignore it, you're arguing with yourself.

Have a good Sunday.

Hmmm, I guess I didn't need to do any research after all, go figure.
BTW...You can GPS Ping...Remote Password Change and YES...Remote Wipe the iPhone.

True, but look at what you have to do to accomplish that :

You must set up a MobileMe e-mail account in the iPhone or iPod touch's Mail app.
You must enable Push in Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
You must enable Find My iPhone for that MobileMe e-mail account (Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendars: [MobileMe account name].
Your iPhone or iPod touch must be connected to the Internet.

On a bberry I log into the BES and click reset. done. The fatal flaw with the iphone is that if it's not connected to the internet a thief can stay offline and grab all of your data. On a bberry, as long as the device is on and the radio is on, you can wipe it.

Please allow me.

Mr. Thunder as usual, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and for gods sake stay away from iPhonesl. .....

OK...I get it now and see your point from a corporate security viewpoint. I've not said the iPhone is better than the BB in this sense but if I did I'd be wrong. I just like my FLUFF applications and I think the design is cool.

One thing for sure is I HATE AT&T. I get dropped calls every day and M-F between 4-6pm I can get as many as a half dozen in prime coverage areas.

Pathetic.

Thanks for the advice Josh.

I do have a profession and a hobby and contrary
to popular belief I have discussed the issue regarding
implementation of the iPhone into the corporate
environment with more than one CTO/VP of IT and
security of (as you say) some very large companies
right here in the Bay Area.

All of the discussions I have had with these people
have explained in detail their issue from a technical
standpoint regarding the iPhone and I understand the
issues fully from a technical standpoint.

The thread started out asking how the MM upgrade was
going for us average users. That was the point of the thread.
So If you saying my contribution made it a dumb
thread then so be it. Your opinion is noted.

Okay, now that everyone is done ranting about off topic items from the OP. How's the MMS working on the iPhone this weekend? I've sent tons of pics to my iPhone buddies and so far so good.

There is always excitement on X5 World (oh no, I mean Xoutpost.com) when we have Barry & Josh on board!

MMS seems to working OK Unfortunately, I don't currently have a text plan so I need to think about that.
Didn't you mean to add Ron to your list? Things REALLY get moving when Bill chimes in too
