Why no BMW Hybrids?

I think Hybrids are a great idea, they increase performance seems like something BMW should add.

A number of cars have engines that shut down Cylinders when on the highway.

I don't understand why a high teck company like BMW can't add these improvements?

I disagree. Ever been in a telco facility where pretty much everything runs on -48? You can grab the two big copper bars and guess what, nothing happens. It takes 80 volts for it to be felt, 110 tingles and 220 just hurts.
