Just Back From Hurricane Wilma

I flew back last night from Ft. Lauderdale. Spent time there, and in Boca Raton. I am just blown away by the destruction. Lines for gas, empty shelves in supermarkets, traffic signals missing, etc. It is amazing what nature can do. I had similar feelings like I did in Africa looking at people scrounging for food and water.

Has the media been covering this at all? It seems they have 'burned out' on Katrina and Rita, yet Wilma did just as much damage (with the exception of the levies). I feel very very bad for all those in FL -- what a terrible time. Things like that just might make me leave the area all together if I lived down there.

Based upon the media reports I did not expect to see what I saw. I arrived just after Wilma, and I thought there may be a little damage, however the extent of it far surpassed what I saw. I think the Katrina and Rita really burned people out on hurricane damage, and the media coverage reflected that.

There are elderly in apartments on upper floors without working elevators, power, or water. They cannot leave, and are relying on the goodness of strangers to help.

Sorry to hear that, man. Ditto for Drex. My mom and sister are in Miami Lakes. They lost power for a few hours, but that was the extent of their problems, thankfully.

Hang in there, guys.

Juan

I was going down to look at some investment properties, however due to circumstances being what they were that went out the window, and I basically went to make sure my grandmother was taken care of.

I will try and get some pictures posted later.
