The prices are really coming down on large plasmas around here & on the net, so I may be interested in copping one for the
Mtn house here, before we depart or, upon our return in April. Don't make your response a term paper or project; just curious
about real world viewing in ambiently bright room and at this altitude.

MD, Why not LCD? LCD will be much better for your bright room with those huge windows.
From Crutchfield web site:

LCD screens are typically brighter than plasmas, making them good choices for viewing in rooms with lots of light. Plasmas are known for producing deeper black levels, which makes them a smart choice if you do a lot of viewing with your room's lights dimmed or darkened

Pioneer plasmas were better than Panasonia for bright rooms. Worries over plasma in bright room - AVForums.com

Some plasmas have altitude issues. Google for "plasma altitude issues".
