I highly recommend the Acer Aspire ONE. For $230.00 you get 1 GB Ram - 160 GB HDD and more.

UCrewX5 has disabled reputation
Best Buy also has an HP entry-level laptop as one of their door-buster specials tomorrow morning for $197.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Netbooks don't have a cd/dvd rom and have small, slow processors.

Just today I got an entry level toshiba from walmart with 2gb ram, 260gb hard drive, windows 7 home premium (32 bit), AMD sempron SI-42 processor, 15.6" HD widescreen etc. Costed under $400 total.

Not a bad unit, I'm actually on it now.
