Lost USPS package

So I bought a T60 Laptop motherboard on ebay to fix one of my Thinkpads. I paid via Paypal and the ebay seller used USPS to shipped the package. The USPS tracking # shows that it was delivered at my address yesterday but I never got this darn package. It may have been taken from my mail box although that never happened in the past. It is a nice community here and we very rarely hear about thing being stolen. I already told USPS about the issue but if they do not find the package what should I do? Go back to the ebay seller to get my money back? Any advise/suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks
Al

Seller's fault that they used a delivery service that did not require signature for delivery.

Yes, it was the sellers fault...tough play as it does show delivered.

Back when I shipped with Airborne, I once shipped and it was delivered. Shows as delivered but buyer advised he never signed and got the package. Ending up losing $300'ish. Long and short of it was that by default, which I did not know at the time, by default, they will leave at the home without signature unless you specificed signature required. Whereas with FedEx or UPS, that is the complete opposite and you need to specify if no signature is required....

Can't advise either way as I can see both sides of the story....
USPS...just sucks in general but their flat rate packages are a good deal IMO

I'm an eBay powerseller. If i shipped something and it showed delivered in the tracking logs, I'd call it delivered. It wouldn't be the sellers fault.
I'd fight it tooth and nail if I was the seller.

on that note, i'd learn pretty quickly to pay the extra $1.50 for signatures though.

About 6 years ago during the summer I ordered my first iPod from Apple.
Fedex says it was delivered but package was nowhere to be found at my house.
After getting the run around for about 5 days I happened to be walking around my neighborhood and noticed a package on my neighbors porch about 4 doors down. Just for the heck of it I went and checked it out and sure enough there is my iPod addressed to me. Apparently he had been out of town for work. It had been sitting in the hot NC weather and getting rained on for about 5 days.
Fedex came to my house and personally picked it up from me the next day and shipped it back and I was refunded.
Went and picked up an ipod at Walmart instead

Are you spelling "the" wrong on purpose, and why?

On topic of the original thread, I purchased a replacement screen for my laptop. I bought it from some guy in Jersey, and this dumbass shipped an LCD literally in a paper envelope. It took 5 weeks before it finally arrived, and needless to say it got destroyed sometime between being shipped, lost etc. Fortunately this is about the worst thing I've ever had happen when things we're shipped to me or vice versa.
