Question Facebook ettiquette question

I recently signed up for facebook due to peer pressure I log on maybe once a day and give it a quick read. I answer friend requests and pms right away. What am I supposed to do with all these other requests? Page requests....Cause requests.....Become a fan requests.......Farmville.... Mafia wars.....snowball fights. I'm not dissing anyone who may have sent me a request but I don't have time for another internet addiction.

If I hit the ignore button, does it just block them from my view or do those whose request I am ignoring, know I'm ignoring them? I don't want to be rude....

In order to accept a request you have to agree to this:
Allowing Friend For Life access will let it pull your profile information, photos, your friends' info, and other content that it requires to work.

What is this? Pull my profile and put it where?

I usually mark the farmville, etc type of crap as spam, and hit "Hide all future" and I have strict limits on who can see my profile. Make sure you turn off "Indexing" so you don't show up in google. Its all in Privacy settings.

You can control who sees what. Each thing has a lock, and you go make a "list" and then include or exclude the list. Pictures, Wall, Contact info, etc.

Before I was 98% sure I never want to be on facebook. Now I'm 100% sure.

The problem with just hitting 'ignore' is the sender doesn't know about it. So you'll keep getting them over and over and over. There are scripts you can download for grease monkey that will automatically ignore all requests for you.
