Quibid

Has anyone used QuiBids - Shopping Redefined It's a sort of online auction site that someone I know swears by. The site sells all sort of things but primarily cool electronics like MacBooks, iPods, digicams, and gaming consoles. The prices they sell for are ridiculously cheap. For example, recently sold was a 13" MacBook for $50.34. An 8GB iPod Touch for $0.59.

How do they make money? Every bid costs $0.60 whether you win or not, in addition to the price of the item if you do win. As you can imagine, if there are a dozen bidders each ponying up $0.60 a bid and bids are either $0.01 or $0.02, you can rack up some pretty good numbers. A PS3 that sells for $45 can yield the site many time more than the retail price of the item with bids going in $0.02 increments.

The guy I know who uses the site has won things and they have shipped directly from stores like Target and Costco so the products do get delivered and in new condition. It's just the whole bidding thing.

Any users?

I have used a site like that in the past.
It was $20 to buy in and you get put on a list. Depending on the number of people, every 60 people that buy in, the next person on the list will get the item.
For that site tho, usually the first 50 people got the item.

There are lots of scams, but for $0.60, why not give it a shot?

Been watching 2 people having a bidding war on a PSP Go for the past few minutes.
About 100 bids later, and the auction still not over, the site is making $$$ for .60 a bid. As far as using it to win something, seeing how it works, I doubt you would win unless you have a couple hundred bids.
