X5 Vs X5 (2000 Vs. 2006) ?

So both X5s are 4.4i. the year 2000 had 103k while the 2006 had 49k, both cars were SES Free and cluster error free, this was next to a dealership out in queens, the two X5 owners wanted to test both there X5s out. I really wish i would have taken a video but at the time I really didn't think anything was going to happen...

The year 2000 X5 had way more pick up then the 2006 X5, i was shocked at the difference, both drivers decided to switch X5s and give it a test and the 2006 owner was amazed at the difference. Can it really be that the older the X the more pick up it has? even though there both 4.4i?

Or could it be some wear and tear issue that the 06 had that was keeping it from giving that extra kick?

NOTE: The year 2000 X5 had redone his transmission about 78k, hes transmission complete failed according to him so im not sure if maybe its because he recently redid his tranny?

Subscribed...recently purchased an '06 X 4.4i

I remember test driving a 2002 4.4i and it felt like it had more low end torque than the '06 (I did not drive them back to back). Course it could have just been my imagination since I was also test driving 3.0's at the time.

I feel like my 4.4 '06 has a lot of power but I need to really step on the gas in order for it to come alive.

its most likely the 6 speed gearbox with the "nummy" first gear that lasts from 0-5 mph which gets the improved EPA figures that causes that.
