Yo'Maties...
Thank you all, very much, for the opins, advice and tips!

I will peruse them and catch links in am, after some BeautimousRest.
Won 40 bucks playing pokah with the Geezers this eve; lost 4 playing Bridge this am.

I am pumped on this TV, (though it is really theCEO's idea), and although I have a pretty good A/V system here on the mtn, I had help "doing it" by my house wiring guy...in the FL Joint, it will be me and MrComcast, lol! But, I'm excited, if a lil'concerned dropping 4fookinGs on a freaking TV.
Thanks again, to all posters. Read ya'll again on Thurs.

Pulled the trigger on the Sony

Pulled the trigger on the 60" SXRD Sony today...got it from USCamera in Brooklyn; I know and have bought from this joint. Legit operation. http://www.us1camera.com/shop/Produc...&ref=pricescan

Very good price and I arm wrestled a very good deal on a 3 yr warr on top of the 1 yr Sony deal. Delivered, it still beats BB and CC.

With luck it, and the new 'Puter show up sometime next week at the Seasonal Starter Shack.

It did take several calls to MasterCard to wrangle it through, as their security is very tight on large interstate/web site transactions, as well it should be.

I feel like theCEO & I are printing money in the fooking basement.
Oh well...live until the money runs out, I tell daKidz.

Pokah w/theGeezers this eve and back to packing, loading, searching lists of Things to Do, etc.
Only in America.

Excellent, md! Let me know when yours turns up. My future bro in law is a high end electronics salesguy/designer/installer, he got us one for cost through his company, allegedly going to show up this weekend at his office/warehouse. We are going to do the whole high end cables/wires etc. I have to get DirecTV to get me HDTV service and gotta buy a HDTV TiVo now too. It all just adds up, don't it?

Congrats MD. I am sure you will like it. Let us know what you think when you see it.

JV: Doesn't it add up quickly, though? The SXRD TV, Monster cables, upgraded the cable box, now waiting to decide which kind of HD DVD to buy first (is there one that will play both formats, so I can sit on the sidelines and see who wins the format war?)

Thanks, Maties...I'll give you my neophyte, non-tech review when the sucka arrives and it gets hooked up in a week to 10 days. I still have some concern on being a firstish adopter on this kind of stuff, the complexity of connections(proper), settings, usage, etc. And, still not sure we "needed" something this big or leading edge or expensive for the FL joint. (Still have to score a stand; found some interesting furniture-type pedestal stuff on the net; the Sony stand and their kind are too Jetson for me.)

It's a "lil' kid in the candy store with a dollar" syndrome when one gets to set up a new A/V system: I don't need, or want MacIntosh or ground rumbling THX or $5G speakers...it is fun purusing the ads and thinking about stuff, however.

The AVS Fourm, http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/index.php?, has been quite a source of info, opins and good reading...many there are even more A-O and opinionated than here, if that's possible. Some serious "things must be perfect" posters, however. Worth a perusal if you are interested in A/V stuff: the site has sub forums up the wazoo and takes some searching.

NEway, off to play Bridge w/my GeezerBridgeBuds for the last time until next spring. Still have a couple hundred things on the migration List to get done.
We are personally trying to keep the US Econ strong with our recent and future, spending sprees.
