yes in outdoor applications, they put a clear layer of almost rubbery laquer that is also a sealant. They do this especially is it's a concrete deck around the swimming pool. Masonary stores in both San Jose and San Ramon can't remember the name carry them.

I looked into race deck and painting, and both have major flaws (paint is too much maintenance, and race deck leaks and is expensive). After the holidays i'm going to get a couple of quotes if I haven't figured out how to do it myself. could be a good DIY.

I went with Fast-Flor @ garagewares.com Fast -Floor Diamond Tiles. The price was amazing and the tiles seemed to be good.

Assembly/installation was easy - I have 388 sq/ft of floor in the garage + 22 as extras, they were $1.75 each for $679.

However, I'm still trying to deal with the tiles bucking - When you pull into the garage the tiles in the rear buckle up. I've taken it all apart and reassembled and ensured that the tiles were right up against the back wall (it's recommended you leave 1/4 - 1/2 inch) so there wouldn’t be movement. Within a month they buckled again.

I'm not jamming on the brakes when I come in or anything like that. I'm going to try one more time to re-install the tiles this spring when it warms up. If that doesn't work, I'm pulling it all up and will get rid of them.

I should have gone with a premium tile from the start and paid the extra $. One more shot to see if it's the (me) installer.

Check out the high strength, high density ceramic tiles on the floor next time you go to the BMW dealership. I can't tell you how many heavy objects are supported by and dropped on these tiles and I've never seen one break! I'm talking 5lb maul dropped from 6-7 feet high without even a chip! And cleanup is as easy as kitchen tiles.

I was told at my dealership that is in a brand new building that those tiles are from Germany and installers came over to do it right. Are you talking about the stuff in the pic below?

I had mine professionally done by an epoxy flooring specialist. VERY easy to clean. Powerwash it and then squeegee/sweep. I too pondered the idea of Racedeck but was concerned about the "trappings" of dirt/water etc.
