E92 M3 Coupe

These are the latest Autobild photoshop pictures. Usually these are really close to real life. I don't understand why BMW has to make the 3-series coupe look completely different. It's always the uglier one compared to the sedan.

And if they really carry in this rear end, they're in for serious trouble.

Proof that prototypes exist:

I agree the rear end looks odd and not as agressive as the sedan.

Does this new M3 rearend remind anyone else of the old gen Lexus SC? Except for the exhaust nothing back there suggests it's gonna go fast.

I can see why it reminds you of the old SC (the taillights). However I think the trunk metal shape reminds me very much of a Buick sedan.

I must admit that the front does look pretty good but the profile and the rear are weak. To me, those angles look very plain and generic. There is nothing special about them and certainly no "BMWness". The headlights are a much better interation of the Dame Edna 5er lights though.

I disagree with Bavarian that the 3er coupés have always looked worse than the sedans. I think it's quite the opposite. Besides, the 3er is all about the coupé, starting from it's inspiration, the 2002.

Agree with PNG, the sedan has always been the weak sister of the more sportier coupe. But the current sedan looks hot, the best new BMW design todate.

May be Bavarian's biased 'cuz he used to own a 330?

Anyone think BMW is crazy enough to make a M3x, meaning an xDrive version of the M3. That could be some NICE competition against the S4.
