If you do, you should come back and make the 12 Step process a sticky .

I think I mentioned this to you before, you should give the new 4Runner a serious look if you're lookin at SUVs.

It all depends on what you're looking for in a car/suv. If all you cared about was the best performance for the price, then go American; they give you the best bang for your buck. Comparing a Blazer SS or even a SRT Cherokee to an X5 is like comparing a cubic zirconia or Diamonique stone to a real diamond. The CZ might look better and have less flaws(better performance), but it can't be compared to a real diamond(you'll probably never hear a girl say, "Cubic Zirconias are a girl's best friend.").

Is this a real question?

Take that car around a decent on ramp or something at the speeds the X5 is capable of.

Unless you are comparing the X5 vs Cayenne or T-Reg or ML, you won't find anything else in it's class.

just to play devils advocate, is being able to take a freeway on-ramp "at speed" worth the extra $35,000?

Sanguru, I'm not talking about the W163 ML, that is a piece of shit. I'm talking about the W164, the one that just came out.
The T-Reg is a very stable suv

gresch, you tell me? I like to drive decent cars.

you must be kidding.. W164 is an improvement but the ML500 I took still handled like a POS. The T-Reg although based on the Pepper chassis is still a pig and no where near the capabilities of the pepper. Outside of the new SLKs and of course the SLR, none of the MB's handle..(and before you queston, I had extended drives in a Renntech S600, CL65, W211 E55, and CLS55) and so are we talking about Stability vs Manuverabilty??
