You guys can all go to finalgear.com and download all the episodes. They torrent every episode of UKTG, USTG, Australia TG and even Fifth Gear.

I love all the elitists who say the US Version is not up to par with the Euro. You can take the Euro version and shove it. They are reviewing cars, not curing cancer. I'd rather watch the US version since those guys aren't as fu of themselves and I don't have to subject myself to the horrible grilles on those Euros who apparently have never practiced oral hygiene.

I respectfully disagree with your statement on the sole basis that I don't watch TG for its factual value. They can hate on all the cars they want because it is on BBC which doesn't have car manufactures showing ads to provide revenue for the station; it is government funded. Their entertainment value on being so nit-picky on small things is much better than USTG.

I can watch USTG but it doesn't provide the laughs UKTG offers. Maybe time will allow the hosts to be more comfortable with each other, like Hammond, May and Clarkson. UKTG has a winning trio but I'm not so sure about USTG's trio.

I just need to correct you on the BBC funding . it is not government funds .
the BBC is paid for by the British people . anyone with a television is required to pay the fee . so thank the people for the beeb .

On the comment that US TG season 1 isn't up to the UK TG, watch series 1 of UK TG, if you haven't already. I think you'll agree that it is nowhere near as polished or good as the current UK TG show.

The presenter in series 1 who was later replaced by May wasn't up to the standard of the other presenters. After that, it took Clarkson, Hammond and May several more series to get up to stride. For example, compare Clarkson's early Roger Daltry interview on SiaRPC to the one with Brian Johnson. In the former, Clarkson was a total embarrassment--mostly to himself-- where the latter was one of the more interesting and informative interviews (especially the longer one on the DVD extras where I discovered the Young brothers hailed from Scotland among other gems).

That being said, I haven't seen anything portending great things for US TG

That is exactly what government funding means. Where do you think government gets their money? Its like saying roads aren't government funded, just people who buy as and cars pay for it. Government has NOTHING if not for us private sector people paying taxes many many many times on every dollar we earn.

to keep with the post; I truly was not amused with the USTG at first. I gave it a chance because I love cars so much. It took 3 episodes, but it has begun to grow on me. In no way is it nearly as entertaining as UKTG though. That is the best show I have ever seen.
