Heated Steering Wheel!

OK, I have had heated seats in many of my cars, but the X5 is my first with a heated steering wheel. I gotta say - what an awesome feature on these cold New England mornings!

How did I live w/o a heated steering wheel all these years?

This has probably been asked before, but can the heated wheel be retrofitted? Is the wiring already there?

i've just installed my new m/series wheel(thanks again rob) and plugged in an additional wire that was not on my 04 sport wheel. could it be a matter of slpicing into power from somewhere in order to get the heater function working? i'm assuming the m series wheel has heating capabilities?

Yes, and a DIY how to and all of that! It'll save me from bothering Rob_ (thanks again!) when I get to it in about 2 weeks.
