McNish in his Audi R18 crashes hard at Le Mans

I can't believe that he walked away from this, not to mention the photographers who all probably shit their pants:

I keep replaying frames from 1:30-1:33 and imho believe that risk wasn't neccessary in hour three of the race. But, rubbin's racin'. Glad he's alright.

edit1: I don't think Beltoise even saw McNish coming with Treluyer up his ass in the #2 Audi, then the slingshot-engage move right as they crested the hill....

edit2: Beltoise did a fantastic job of saving the F-car as best as he could.

Agreed, totally unnecessary at that point of the race. Le Mans is a marathon not a sprint. I wonder if something broke on the car before the crash. Still waiting on details.

incredible none of the photographers or spectators behind the wall were injured by all of that debris

Formula1 in Montreal, IndyCars in Texas, and The 24 Hours of Le Mans - all in beautiful HD

great weekend for race fans!

Rockenfeller in the other Audi is now off as well and it doesn't look good.

Was that karma, or a love tap from the Ferrari, or both? hmm....

It's amazing how much money can still be salvaged from the wreck.... wiggins clamps, and etc.

edit: No tires on the straight to absorb energy in Rockenfeller's crash... he's going to be sore tomorrow.

I would say he as well as a few people behind the tire wall are very lucky to be alive.
