Cops aren't supposed to use the computer while driving... they're supposed to stop, do what they gotta do, then go again. That's one of the reasons you often see them parked in random places. But they do use the laptops for navigation to calls. You wouldn't want the cops to show up even later saying they got lost huh?

But I feel how distracted I can get when I do certain things while driving like fumble for the phone, with CD's or an ipod... I save that stuff for redlights. I had an ex get mad at me for not returning her barrage of texts once, wouldn't stop bitching long enough for me to answer why... I had to yell it at her that I was freakin driving a stick shift car through traffic on the way to her house, how the hell was I supposed to text her?!? Yeah... that one didn't last long.

I think if a cop sees someone driving erratically, swerving and all, and pulls them over just to find out they were messing with a phone or other device they should be able to get a ticket for DWD, driving while distracted. A friend of mine just lost his life this past weekend on his Harley because someone on the phone ran a red light.... Just as bad as drunk driving if you ask me. RIP Simon.
