Opening day here in Detroit today....
After setting the all time record for number of losses in a season a couple years ago, the Detroit Tigers are much improved and are shooting to do better than .500 this year and perhaps be a challenger in the American League Central Division. However, with their payroll and current talent they will certainly not be challenging the Yankees or the Red Sox anytime soon.

Anyone else going to their home opener?

My radio station is the flagship for the former Expos/current Washington Nationals. I hear there is a party at RFK for all of us employees on the 14th, which is the home opener. The Nats open the season against the Phillies in Philly today. Cool thing is, the Nats don't have a complete season TV deal, so for at least 68 games this year, our station will be the only place to get play-by-play of the action. All the ratings bonuses will help me trick out the X5 this summer! But, let's face it, the Nats are gonna be horrible.

Well, as most of you have seen (from my pic), I am a Yankee fan. They had their opener last night and whooped on the BoSox pretty good. It's a looooong season, though. Glad baseball is back!

Yup - 3 homers, including his first two at-bats for the season. He was hit by a pitch on his third at-bat, go figure

I may also go to see the Tribe while they are in town this weekend if the weather holds
