Beware of buying from MRBMWX5
Here are the brief details to save you from reading many, many PMs.... In June I was in Afghanistan, I bought some headlights after everybody was ranting and raving about how great they were. I paid for them and told him I was overseas and that they'd be sent to a friends and they'll sit there until I returned in late July or August. I returned August 1 and around mid-august got to my Indy and had him put the lights in. After putting the lights in I took it to the car wash to have one light fog up completely. I emailed him and he said he was surprised but to just take a bulb out and let it sit in the sun to dry out. After I explained that I lived in Oregon, where it rains almost everyday during the fall/winter/spring and that I washed my car at least twice a week, that for me to pull a light out every time and let it sit in the sun was not a satisfactory solution to the problem, I told him I'd like to have it fixed. Seemingly reluctantly he said ,"okay, I'll fix it, send it back." I then emailed him saying I got sent out of town and didnt have time to send it out yet, about a week later. Then when I returned to town and washed the car again-this time with the intention of cleaning it so I could pull the leaking headlight out clean, the other head light fogged up. I emailed him and told him the other light fogged up and offered to send pics or a video if he'd like, and please let me know his thoughts and a solution....No reply.... Again, a couple weeks later I emailed him...no reply...meanwhile, he was active on the boards because he was replying to threads.... Finally I just sent them both back and told him I was not satisfied with either the lights or his communication...I told him I'd like a refund because 1, the lights leaked and he made almost zero attempt to fix it once I told him they both leaked, 2, because he didnt have the decency for a guy who I paid 550 dollars to to reply to my emails, and 3, I am headed back to afghanistan and wont be around for them to arrive or test, they'd sit for months before I could get them in. Add to this I paid 120 to have them put in the first time, then 45 to have them shipped, and if I wanted them back in, another 120. I told him I will stick to my stock and not to send them back since I'm not around nor do I want them now. His only reply was, "I'll take a look at them and send them back to your address you shipped them from..." Any help would be great, again, I didnt want to do business like this, but I am left with no other options.

It is REALLY hard to maintain trust when there is so much 'slop' in the communications loop.
From his viewpoint you are being flakey... might be good reason for the lags, but you cannot imagine the nut-jobs that scam vendors all the time. Good luck |

The slop is the 'in Afghanistan", the 'sitting at a friends' the 'one week maybe 10 days'...
dude, I am not saying this is your fault- just trying to explain how this stuff happens. Guy may be a scumbag, who knows.... |

Tom decided to only PM me, stating 'like I said, I'm sending you the lights back.'
He knows he is doing sh!tty business, and doesnt have the decency to even try to defend himself here. Thing is, like I told him, I am not in Florida any longer, but he doesnt care, he is just going to send the lights back to the return address from where they were mailed...this guy is a total tool

^^ Agreed. That is pretty poor behavior, given the stated situation.
How did you fund the transaction? I spend ~$200k a year on my AMEX and they will take care of virtually any issue I have with a transaction... (although June is a long time ago...) A |

First of all you bought these lights from me back in May 15 of 2011 that is about 5 months and i can't accept the return/refund.
Things does happen when you open up the headlights and reseal them.moisture or humidity get in. I did repply to you via PM's ( I don't use e-mail)and had offer you the repair but you didn't not respone to me .Three week later you shot me an PM and said you want the money back.Like i said i only repair it and shipp them back to you where ever address you will provide. If you want the refund i will/do charged 30% restocking fee. |

unfortunately I didnt use my AMEX, I wish I would have. I used paypal and even tried to hook Tom up by doing a personal transaction to save the PP fee.
Tom, you know damn well I was not in the states, when I first talked to you to buy them I told you they were just going to sit until I got hom, they were not installed, and were not even unboxed until mid-august when I got home, which I PM'd you. When you offered the repair, I replied a week later saying that I hadnt had a a chance to get them out to you-it isnt like I just blew you off completely. This is after I had to convince you that just pulling the bright bulb out to let it dry out wasnt a satisfactory fix to fogging headlights. Three week later you shot me an PM and said you want the money back I shot you 2 PMs during this time which you didnt reply to, before they were emailed mailed back... A 30% restocking fee is BS. I've already spent a total of 165 to have them installed/removed and shipped back to you. You are gonna spend another 45 to send them back anyways, you can save that, I'm not paying 165 for you to fix them like they should be anyways, just for you to resell them. Nor am I going to pay another 120 to have them installed when I do not trust your work any longer....
