Nissan Titan

Do you think it is a good replacement of my 4.4 x5 ??

I'd probably go for something like the Ford F150 with the Ecoboost engine, but then again I don't know if the typical large American pickups are sold in the EU.

If you need a truck bed then perhaps but you will find a fairly drastic change in quality of the interior plastics, leather, and switchgear. The Nissan feels very cheap. A friend of mine has a 4-door Titan and I have been in it numerous times. There is plenty of room in the back seat if you get the 4-door version. In addition to the trim changes, the Titan drives and rides very much like a truck.

Ford F150 Raptor SVT if you are going the truck route, than this is my recommendation.

I thought the OP was on a quest for better mpg?
The Titan, in most versions, is a pig, gas-wise.

And, as PNG noted, it is like moving from nice home to a trailer, in terms of materials, ride, driveability & feel, and not even close, 'species-wise', imo.

Admittedly over the last 6 months are so, I've starting having this idea of getting a pickup as the next car. If the VW Amarok was sold here, that would be my next car. Roads here in NC are too straight anyway to truly "use" that BMW handling. Plus with an efficient 2 litre diesel, I'd be getting 7,6-8,1 l/100km (29-30 US mpg) on the combined cycle, so it's good utility, reasonable power, and not too hard on the wallet with fuel costs.

Did VW partner up with another manufacturer on that, like they did with the Routan? It bears some resemblance to a Nissan Frontier and I doubt VW would tool up for a pickup truck with limited global sales. VW has done a "truck" before though.

Ah, the old VW truck....

And there's this...

The Amarok is built in Argentina and exported most markets outside North America. I saw more than a few in South Africa. No, it's not a "shared platform" with someone else like the Routan is.

I just wish there was pickup that isn't horribly thirsty on fuel (the X3 is already thirsty for my standards). C'mon, it can be done.......
