Great setups! I'm chompin' at the bit for a new TV (I have a little 27"er and its 10 years old!) but I'm waiting until the 1080p displays have 1080p input and we'll see where the Plasma prices go.

I love the SXRD, its a great set. I just want 1080p input as the processing of the video signal will continue to improve. An outboard video processor will be a great add on in 4-5 years. You would be able to use a video processor with a 1080i input ... I'm just hoping for a 1080p input so there would be absolutely no processing from the TV at all.

imho

if u have a hd signal then u're not going to be able to tell the diference that the 1080p delivers with the human eye (shown in a recent study), sooooooooo why wait , spend the money befor the wife does.

In the end, I think the point is to have the power device fail when a big surge hits, instead of our expensive AV gear. Spending thousands on power devices seems to have diminishing returns IMO.
$350 for my Panamax 5100, BIG improvement in quality of sound and video.
