Agree, can't stand Obama.
But he can face him and say the same
thing if he feels that strongly.

The Boston media has been very critical of him. Who knows if it'll stick but Boston fans are pretty, well, fanatical. I'm sure if he's doing well between the pipes he will be loved.

This little scandal is still nothing compared to the crap that happens in the NBA and NFL. At least there is no gunplay involved.

Pretty sure James Harrison of the Steelers didn't make his team trip to see Obama either. I would guess Thomas wont be the last person to refuse the visit.

No arm wrestle here but I don't understand how one can despise, or can't stand a person one has never met. It seems to me that as the years go by human beings are becoming more toxic, unkind and disrespectful. No where is this more evident that the climate in politics and those who engage in it. I agree with Bob Schieffes comments about the subject.

"This is just another sign of the incivility and really the vulgarity of modern American campaigns. These campaigns have gotten so ugly and so nasty, that they're now tarnishing the whole system.

I think it also underlines the coarseness of our culture in this age of social media when it is so easy to say anything about anybody and get no penalty for saying it.

The thing that has always made our system so strong is that whatever we have thought of the office holders, we have held the offices themselves in high respect. We have respected the office.

I've watched a lot of presidents over the years but I can never recall a president stepping off Air Force One, which is itself a symbol of the presidency and American democracy, and being subject to such rudeness."

I can't remember any disrespect for the president when George W. Bush was in office, would you happen to recall if there was any?

I believe that if one were to do a Google search one could find
loads of disparaging comments made about bush.

IMO it seems to me the tone, the language, the intent, and motive
behind remarks i've heard all point to a society where civility has
gone out the window replaced with venom.

Maybe it's the media who's behind it but no one deserves the
kind of comments this president has been subjected to. Believe
me there is a difference and most people know exactly what is being
said and they know that whats being said about Obama would never
have been said about bush. It's just not possible to make the same
kind of remarks and expect them to apply to Bush.
