The license plate is KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

May be he can enlighten us as to what is the deal with color.
Could be the "latest fashion" there.

But then again, the car is in France (most probably Paris or Lyon)
and the driver is trying to make a statement with purple color.

I, personally, would not drive it. If I get it as a gift, I would just sell it.

Once again the statement that money doesn't buy taste is demonstrated.

For what it is worth, I wouldn't drive that either and if I absolutely had to ride in it for some reason, I would be wearing a disguise and the seat would be reclined all the way back.
