It has. My friends have various Honda products (admittedly, two have TLs which are US engineered and manufactured) which have had more problems than my X3. Between the automatic gearbox snafu, weak batteries, and one of them actually dying for no apparent reason (engine cut out and had to be towed), I think there's slippage on purposed "Honda quality". Another friend ditched his 2006 CR-V after it was "a money pit" and "thirsty, got no more than 14 US mpg around town"- he just got a VW Golf Wagon TDI (Jetta in the US) and loves it.
