SAN FRANCISCO, August 20, 2012 — Ninety-two percent of the Top 100 paid Apple iOS apps and 100 percent of Top 100 paid Android apps have been hacked, according to new research contained in the State of Security in the App Economy: Mobile Apps under Attack report. The report, which reveals the widespread prevalence of “cracked” mobile apps and the financial impact befalling the multi-billion dollar App Economy due to compromised brands, lost revenues, intellectual property (IP) theft, and piracy, was released today by Arxan Technologies.

We're not safe as long as we put ourselves out there. Scary. I knew it would be bad with Android with an open source environment and when I had an Android phone, the majority of apps were buggy as heck. Apple apps have been more stable for sure. I'm not saying either is safer/less safe. I'm just talking about even the stability of the apps.

Who cares?

People who pay for apps will pay for them.

People who don't pay for apps will steal them.

Not to mention, you can't run hacked apps on an iPhone unless its jailbroken and it is such a small % of users that once again, who cares??
