EDIT: Oh, and the S4 costs much less...at least in Canada.
I think each has it's own +/-'s; the S4 was choosen because of it having 4 doors, AWD and the V8 engine.
I don't think you can go wrong with either, it's that we live in Colorado and although it's not his daily driver; it's good to have the added security.

The RS6 is amazing. I had a limited edition VW New Beetle Turbo S, it had the 180 hp engine in the Audi TT with a 6 speed and I can't say enough about that car. I miss it so much.

Both manufactures make excellent cars.

my wife's B6 S4 is plenty loud and will walk away from E46 M3's all day... PNG can attest to it. Full headers, Milltek downpipes and Milltek full exhaust, pulley, and Revo software.. estimate HP is about 400 and is a true true sleeper. Even stock, the 330xi nor the PP's are a match for it either in a straight line or in the twisties.

After driving my car he went out and installed a CAI and exhaust so he could hear his engine.

Wait a minute? Your wife has this upgraded car?! Why aren't you in the driver's seat? If I had that upgraded car in the household, I'd readily ditch any 330xi or X5 that might be lingering around.

that's the slowest car in the family.. the other car is a 460+hp E39 M5 (dyno'ed) and a yamaha R6... and of course, a new bull coming in Feb.

Well my friend's B5 S4 is basically stock except the CAI and muffler. I don't doubt the B6 with all the mods is a completely different animal. A fairer comparision would be the Dinan S3-M3 (423 hp) not the the stock M3 and certainly not my lowly 330xi .

But it's pointless comparing heavily modified cars. You get to a point where it's not about the make and model but more about how much money you want to throw at it.

The most imporatant thing about this comparison is why the heck does BMW still have vinyl siding on their cars!! Everyone moved away from that years ago!! That was one of the refreshing things zbout Zaino'ing the Audi...I didnt have to get the Q-tips out...

Vinyl siding? I'm picturing vinyl siding like on a house. If you mean body side moulding the new 3, 5 and 7(?) series are sans moulding.
