How enthusiastic is your wife???

X5Jay got me thinking after his recent post "Another M-Sport Wheel Installed!" http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...installed.html Originally Posted by X5Jay

At least I get some comfort knowing that my fellow X5worldinians will understand and share the same sickness, uh.., um..., I mean enthusiasm... "

My wife hasn't noticed a single mod I performed:
1. Sport Steering Wheel
2. ACS replica pedals
3. 17" to 19" wheels (dramatic)
4. CF cluster bezel w/ chrome rings
5. Chrome grill
6. upgraded sport headlights (even when I set the old lights, w/ amber corners directly on top of the new lights she couldn't see any difference)
7. Chrome Tail Pipes (sweeet)... she thought they were always there ....@#$#@
8. Front skid plate
9. To her credit she did notice the headrest monitors.... because the dad blasted things were uncomfortable to her!!!!

When I finish a mod, I ask her to go look and see if she tell what I've done (after working on a mod for hours in some cases) and for the life of her, she can't spot a single difference (not even a new sport steering wheel she's got her hands wrapped around)!!!

Does anybody else have this problem... that their wife (or significant other) doesn't notice or get the least bit excited over any mods?
I get amped even when I polish the tail pipes with chrome polish!!!

Her attitude is to buy it the way you want it and leave it alone (where's the fun in that???).
I love her to death, but man can she throw a wet rag on a good mod project.
Unfortunately, she has the same lack of enthusiasm for my electronics and audiophile addictions....... what can I say.... ughh!!!

Thats why you hang out here shareing your photo's and such. If she was just like you think of all the money she would be spending. Viva la difference.

WarEagle, you might be on to something...think of all the things she might not notice on a day to day basis: new TV...beer keg installed in the living room...stripper halftime entertainment while you enjoy the Super Bowl...

Wow, talk about serendipity....making lemon aid outa lemons... this lack of enthusiasm could really open some doors!

Hey WarEagle - sounds like you need a super-charger! See if she notices that! You could tell her the gas must be getting better these days...

While you are modding you beloved X5, you propably aren't noticing her growing collection of shoes, clothes, collectibles, etc. We all chose what we want to see.

My wife looks at my mods with bemused indifference, like a mother looking at her kid's rock collection.
