15,000 Sandy Damaged Cars sitting on a private airstrip

The pictures are incredible...

Even more images of the airport full of 15,000 flood-damaged Sandy cars

Those are amazing photos; and that's just a fraction of the cars impacted by Sandy.

I could see cars from all brands that I could think of (including BMW, Mini, Mercedes, Audi, etc.). Only one I didn't notice in my quick look was Porsche.

This can't be good for them if they were moved into position like this though...

It shouldn't matter how the cars are moved since these cars are considered salvage, which are only good for parts and then scrap or recycled (in theory).

My point was that some of them may be put on the market as complete cars (salvage or not).

Well...then my point was that you've got other things to worry about other than how they've been moved if you ever bought one of those cars

The sad sad part, is that I know a few shop owners who have already snatched up some decent cars, and are already fixing them up.

Another problem is that I have a lot of relatives and friends that lost their cars. So when they called the insurance company, insurance would say, we will just say it got flooded by sewer backup, as in fresh water, not salt water. Because salt water totals the car, while fresh water, can have the car resold.

One guy was actually trying to sell me an e53 on stick saying it was wet from sewer backup. Yea to the damn roof. Sure buddy.

An acquaintence of mine works for an insurance company and he says that they're reselling flooded vehicles as described above, "fresh water" flood.

Good thing I'm not in the market for a vehicle at this point.

Some guy just brought a new x5 and new 535 with flood titles at auction...brand new dealer cars. He's trying to fix them up. He has no idea what he is doing. Thread on BF....

So they are being sold.

People need to know that titles can be washed ... Even in 2013

A
