Couple X5 Pics...

Washed the ol'2001 X the other day; it's been awhile, as it rains literally every damn day here. We are at 100"+ of precip this year, which is about 'double normal', for the entire fookin year. Our local frogs are wearing SCUBA gear, and we are fighting the mold sneaking into house.

Quick wash in the drive, so I shot a couple of pics looking down from our deck: one is medium wide angle, the other is medium tele.
Thanks for looking!
BR, mD

Looking very good for coming up on 13 years MD. Testament to the care you take of it.

Always good to see your shots. Hope you are keeping well.

Jeff

Look great, MD. My 2001 will be rolling over the 225,000 mile mark soon, unfortunately it doesn't look quite as nice. 13 winters and the Michigan roads take its toll. But it still turns heads, as the E53 styling is timeless. Thanks for sharing, brings back good memories of my last visit to your mountaintop abode!!

JCL: thanks, and we both are doing fine, as we hope you two are, also. Retirement, huh? I will believe that when you sit home for a year.

JBelknap: thanks, esp for the 'stuff' part. I still think we are distantly related, as my mother was a Belknap.

UCrew: thanks...that was a long time and a lot of miles ago. Yes, the E53 was the new bench mark for suv type cars, looks-wise, imo.

Nice shot of the clean X5. Do you have a polarizing filter? It would make shots like that really pop by cutting the glare on the glass and pumping up the saturation on the flora.

Looking very lush on the mountain. Could be Costa Rica instead of NC.

I'm embarrassed to say I haven't washed the X5 since we got it detailed in June.

I hope you and V are doing fine. Looking forward to seeing pics of the new FL shack+.

Raymond,
thanks my friend...yes, polarizing filters for both main lenses, but carefully resting in their boxes upstairs in a cam bag, lol!

It was just a snap anyway...lush ain't the word. I could grow stuff in the mold in our garage. Indescribable really, and only 8 days of no rain since we rolled back up the mtn in mid April.

FL Winter Shack II is nearing the finish line. Need to sell FL WS One sometime this winter season. Hey, it's only money, we have 'enough', and how much do we have to leave to the Kids, to be well remembered?! Hope you, J & A&A are all doing well!

Sounds like me. I've got a ton of gadgets and gizmos squirreled away only to come across them or remember them after the opportunity has passed.

I hope the real estate market in Naples treats you favorably.

Wait a few more years; you won't remember what you have, where it is, and you will seldom come across it...

I hope the real estate market in Naples treats you favorably.
It came back, like mushrooms after a hard rain, about last January. I am quite certain we can toss the FL Winter Starter Shack for a tad more than we paid for it, but don't care as it's mort free, and was a nice seasonal joint for the past 8 winters. It's the packing/moving and all the work in the new FL Shack that I am not looking forward to...

I stopped washing the cars. You know as well as I do that it rains 3x a day everyday. Wettest year by a wide margin in Asheville.
