Phew!! Thanks for clarifying that, saxe. When you said CPO, I thought you were gonna say "Certified Pre-Owned"! lol

I see this was your first post? Welcome aboard!

Well, yeah... that's an idea. Pain in the a$$, but, oh well. I am just not gonna worry about it so much and enjoy my ride... Whatever happens in a few years, happens...

Thanks for all your thoughts, guys!

I'm a little late to the game on this post, but I agree with the general statement... You bought the car so you'd have something you'd enjoy driving! So, DRIVE IT! I drive a lot, too... I drive an average of about 300 miles per week, partially because I have to drive a 90-95 mile roundtrip once a week... But enjoy the car, particularly your X5, while you've got it.

My .02

Enjoy the car...

But now let me give a long answer..
Unless I am going to keep a car for a long long time (like my Porsche.) I am not going to buy cars anymore. It is a better deal to lease now.
Let me explain why.
When you buy a high line car, when you go to sell it, your asking someone to shell out 25k-35k in cash to buy it.. or more...
IT IS HARD TO FIND BUYERS RIGHT NOW.... Especially with the great financing rates that are available for a new car.
So you decide to trade it in. Blue Book says your car is worth 30K on trade in. The dealer tells you he can only give you $27.5 because he has to wholesale it. He suggests to you that you sell your car privately.
Your car, privately (according to Blue Book) is worth $35K. But no one even calls you for months when you list at that price. So you keep dropping your price until you finally take $28.5 from a private buyer and that takes months. You have to show it, clean it everytime someone comes. and all the other B.S.

If you lease it, three years, you flip it. If your mileage is over you pay .15 cents a mile to .20 cents a mile over which is not bad at all. And the car becomes someone elses problem.

My 4.8is is the first car I have ever leased, I am soooooo happy to have leased it. So many advantages. You save on taxes, need not worry about selling it, and many other things..

Again, I have purchased lots of cars and thus far, leasing is my favorite.

good luck.
