Charlotte snow storm

And few years ago, I was in Bellingham, WA for the winter. The X was wearing its 19" diamaris tires. Except for a couple of slipping incidents, I was able to get around in the 4-5" snow. It wasn't the best traction but it worked.

Today in 3" in Charlotte with the Arturo AZ800 m&s I was able to get around all those who were stuck on small hills. I couldn't get the traction control system to activate unless I stood on the gas a little.

Anyway, the road leading into the apartment complex i'm staying in IS a little bit of a hill. When I got in line there were four cars in front of me on the hill slipping and sliding and going nowhere. At the head of the line was a 328 struggling with its rear wheel drive.

Once all the cars ahead of me gave up, I crept past them all, got out of the way of all traffic, parked, and came back to help. I was able to get the BMW moving up the hill by pushing but it mostly went sideways.

After a few minutes I asked the next guy in line to help me push it. He just stared at me from within his car and then continued - with no success to try to get up the hill. I looked to the next guy in line and he got out of his car to help.

After we got the BMW squared away we went back to his car and I got ready to help push his car. But he really didn't need help because now that the BMW was out of the way, he was able get around the second car in line to climb the hill on his own.

Meanwhile the guy who wouldn't help was still spinning his tires going nowhere. I stood there watching for a while and then left.

Now, I admit that I only saw this one guy refuse, but I'm really surprised that anybody wouldn't help.

You get help unsticking your car and the next in line helps you, that's the way it was when I was a kid. Has that gone by the wayside?

Maybe he was just russian, or didnt want anyone touching his car.

Anyway....

Man i had sooooooo mcuh fun the past few days:

On the X5 i used to have COntinental DWSs all around but then had to replace rears and got some free used michelins. The car did really well in the snow. IM from russia ive driven in snow on snow tires many times and i must say it wasnt toooo much difference. Very fun, got the back to step out in some corners a few times.
South charlotte was empty i had the roads all to myself.

I even got the Porsche out and drive around the neighborhood. It was interesting.

The second in-line guy is a dumb a** and that's what he deserved. Good story.

not to say that the second-in-line guy did right - but...

what if he was a handicapped person? or, otherwise physically challenged? Of course, he could have said so, but maybe he was ashamed of his condition?... I just wonder, what went though his head, when he saw you help the other guy, and then watch him struggle and leave...

Some people are strange...

And Artem, nice pics, and that Porsche looks good!!! I like that B/W tail pic - it would make a better avatar than the Erik's ride...
