Sweet color combo- I don't blame ya for not wanting to ruin the lines with the front plate...

I've got a tow hook plate mount in the trunk (if you want to call that glove compartment sized thing in the back a trunk), but I'm in no rush to mount it. Waiting on a new vanity plate. I got one of these mounts and I think it will work very well.

Interlagos is a sweet color, but at the end of the day I think I still prefer LeMans Blue. Don't think it was available in 2013, and it doesn't matter, because I'm the second owner of this car. The first guy paid handsomely for the 10,500 miles that he put on the beast, and my wallet thanks him for it.

No it's a DCT. I test drove a 6MT and hated the clutch. There are clutch stops and replacement clutch pedals to fix the issues that I and many other owners had with the 3rd pedal. But at the end of the day I decided I didn't want a 3rd pedal 100% of the time as a daily driver. I have owned 5 previous MT cars (2 BMWs, 1 Mini, 1 VW and 1 Audi), and I always said anyone who buys an M3 or a 911 without a 3rd pedal is an idiot.... I get it. I guess I am the idiot I have been mocking for decades, but know the DCT is a lot of fun.

FWIW, a BFest member explained why he chose a DCT over a 6MT in this thread. Kudos to Kurt_OH for summing it up nicely.

I am copying and pasting his response below, because it's pretty much my reasoning as well.

"I have, and prefer, the DCT. Reasons, in the order they are occurring to me:

- I like technology and it works great. I like explaining it to folks who don't know how dual clutch transmissions work, and seeing them either fascinated or perplexed. Fun either way.
- When I don't want to mess with shifting (stuck in traffic, using NAV ...) I can just put it in D and go.
- When I want to specify the shifts, I can do so and it quickly obeys any valid command. I can't "money shift" or get to a high gear while stopped, but otherwise it does exactly what I say, when I say so.
- Adjustable shift speed/firmness (kinda goes with #1)
- Fun/cool/unique.
- Any time I want a different gear, I can just decide it, blip down with rev-matched shifts, and I'm there. No drama or flailing around with feet and hands. It's not a hassle or a bunch of work or anything but fun.

I will admit that the visceral sensation of the clutch and shifter are pleasant when you want to drive aggressively. But so is the DCT, with the clinical, high-tech immediacy and precision. Plus, when I just want to go somewhere, I can decide that I don't need any drama and just drive my fun car.

Also, the DCT, in sportier modes, will recognize when you're driving aggressive and downshift aggressively even in D, keeping the engine revved.

I haven't used launch control. I'm just not that into all the driveline stress for something that really this car just isn't that great at.

I don't think test driving means much in this case. The DCT is easier to LIVE with, is fascinating in design and function, and is far safer for your engine. The manual is more raw and provides that sensory feedback of the slipping clutch to your foot and the action of pulling the shifter for each gear.

I think driving a stick is fun; what I don't like is that there's no way around it. I'd prefer to have my fun when I choose, and just put it in D and head to my destination when I'm just driving my nice car. To me, that's what's so great, amazing even, about the M3. It's a pretty stout performer, and a regular, usable car."
