Dude, Im not a doctor, but as a teen, I dont think anyone dealt with it more than I did...I tried EVERYTHING,,Every topical solution/gel you can name, all the over the counter things as well...I dont think it was a puberty thing either, cause I dealt with it for years afterwards...Anyway, in 1995, I saw a doctor and he prescribed a 10% topical gel called Cleocin-T. The make a solution, which is pretty darn rough, alcohol based, and the gel. I never looked back, made a 180 degree turn in a matter of a couple months...I stopped using it in 1998, when clearisil came out with the "total control" series...This stuff is the BEST...Ive been using it every since, and I havent even the slightest case of spots for years....

I would definately stay away from Accutane! I took all of about a couple weeks of that stuff before I had to stop. It works on the acne, but your face gets all red and dried out, and you are unbelievable thirsty all the time. It basically shuts down all of your sweat glands as I understand it, at any rate it's pretty rough. If you want to do something simple, try tanning about once a week or so. This seems to dry the spots up, and you look like you just came back from somewhere cool. Doing it too much would defeat the purpose, as exposing yourself to high powered bulbs too much to save your skin will in turn destroy your skin. Keep it infrequent, and use a touch of sunscreen or something.

I tried everything as well
![]() For me, it was time that cleared it up. Another thing that helped me a lot was working out. As stupid as that sounds, it forces you to shower afterwards.

Go see a dermatologist. No one on this board can give proper advice. The treatment runs the gamut from soap/water, to antibiotics, to Accutane (which works wonders, for the right people). There is much myth and misinformation about acne out there.

If you have a developed pimple, then apply toothpaste on it overnight. Dries out by morning. Tha makes the pimple skip all the process between formation and drying.

if just a spot starting to develope, I use Neosporin antiseptic - bad acne, I agree, see a dermatogolist - everyone is different and their skin reacts differently - usually just a matter of finding out what works for you (even with a dermatologist) - Sorry, I couldn't help more
