Was this a good move by Biden?

"Make no mistake about this," Biden responded. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight."

Almost sounds like a defeatist attitude and admission that Obama in his first Pre-Presidential decision made a mistake.

I'm shocked unless he is stetting the stage and lowering expectations. One other thing I noticed was last night on David Letterman sitting down with Obama was that Palin's name was mentioned a dozen times in the short exchange while Joe Biden was mentioned twice, once by Dave and once by Obama.

What was once a brilliant campaign is now starting to show some trouble.

I wonder what would have happened had McCain asked Hillary to be his VP.

Yes, yes, I know, she's a democrat.. But could you imagine what that might have done in the big picture.

I think he did one better. He united the base Conservatives who have been unhappy with McCain and he seems to be siphoning off just enough female voters to change the momentum. Throw in the fact that the Obama Campaign and Democrats in general are in a panic mode due to Palin.

This election will be decided by the debates. Obama uses a lot of words to get his point across and he sometimes sounds like a lawyer and that could spell trouble. McCain on the other hand tends to lose his focus and shows his age.

McCain's pick of Palin was more based on winning the Presidential race rather than based on what's best for America at this point in time. McCain clearly would not have picked Palin if Obama selected Hilliary.

If McCain had selected Palin before Obama named Biden, Obama still would have selected Biden as a VP (a selection that is based on what's good for America now).

Obama vetted seriously, and selected a fine VP.

As I've posted before, I think Biden is a decent guy - But that ticket vs McCain/Palin..., who do you really think is actually going to achieve change?

I agree with your first point McCain choosing Palin to win especially when Obama passed on Hillary. The well publicized split of Hillary delegates at the convention made Palin the best choice to win.

You second point that had McCain picked Palin first Obama would have still chosen Biden is wrong in my opinion. Obama wants to wind this as much as McCain and had Obama not believed he was a shoe in he would have thought more about the Hillary factor. He was just a bit too arrogant and thought he did not need the Clinton's to win. That arrogance will cost him this election if it keeps up.
