Finally let's put this Obama and the Joe the Plumber financial issue in the proper economic perspective.

Even if "Joe the Plumber" did buy Newell Plumbing and Heating, Obama’s tax plan wouldn’t affect him. While Wurzelbacher told Obama that he would be taxed at a higher rate because the company grossed more than $250,000 a year, Ohio business records show the company’s estimated total annual revenue as only $100,000. Actual taxable income would be even less than that.

In any event, Obama’s tax plan specifies that the higher rate would apply only to income above the $250,000 threshold. Assuming Wurzelbacher’s income as owner somehow hit $280,000 — the top end of his supposition of the company’s revenue — only the extra $30,000 would be taxed at a higher rate.

Analysts calculated that the extra tax would amount to $900, which would likely be more than offset by separate provisions of Obama’s plan: a 50 percent tax credit for health care and elimination of the capital gains tax for small businesses.

In this specific case it doesn't sound much like wealth distribution to me.....

If you don't think wealth redistribution is what Obama is about, see post 19

So if you're OK with "steal from the rich and give to the poor" vote for him. Just remember, when you grant that type of power there is absolutely nothing stopping that 250K threshold from being lowered to 100K. Remember, avg Joe is making less then $50K a year.

BINGO...Obama is going to need to lower that income bar to pay for his education, health-care, and other spending projects because his campaign plan won't raise enough income to pay for a fraction of what he is proposing. Remember, his 250K plan is only a campaign slogan. Once in office he can change that threshold to cover his spending plan like many politicians have done in years past. His excuse will be the economy is worse than once thought and he will need to be more aggressive.

BINGO BINGO BINGO

I've been saying this all along. But there seems
to be a consistant drone as if all this stuff that
the candidates talk about is already the Law.

Get over it folks. It's all talk. You know it, I know
it, they know it. It's not the end of the world.

Wow...I had no idea.

I'm a firm believer that if you don't vote you can't complain. I also believe it is a civic duty.

I already said i have no candidate and didn't intend on voting for either one.
If you carefully read my posts what you do hear from me rather than complaints
is a constant search for the humor of it all, or my playing devil's advocate.

I will try to get the facts if that's possible regarding any debate but i try to reach beyond the politics and look for the sense of it all.

In reality though i love to stand back and watch the McCain/Obama show and laugh.
I guess that's why I'm so intent on being sarcastic about much of it.
It honestly Reminds me of the Keystone cops.

QS, You are not leaning to one person more than the other? I can understand tht neither may be perfect, but in your opinion they are dead even? You can't seem to agree with one more than the other? That is really what it comes down to.

I don't lean;

I honestly have no preference for either candidate because i really don't get involved in politics.

In my view politics divides the East from the West. It divides nations, cities and even families. Politics is one of the most divisive influences of mankind.

I also do not advocate or preach democracy, socialism, communism or any other form of human government as a remedy for the world’s woes.

In my view politics cannot begin to put the connecting tissue back in society. It is ill-equipped to reconstruct traditional moral beliefs. The best policies cannot recover courtship or marriage, make fathers responsible for their children, restore shock or shame where it once existed. The vast majority of moral problems that trouble us cannot be eradicated by law.

Knowing these things as i do, I i find it more entertaining to just stand on the side lines and stir the pot... Be a devil's advocate, agitate folks when they make questionable statements, and mostly try to have a lot of fun laughing at some of the absurd goings on round these parts.

Most of all i try to laughing at myself......
