My understanding is that tax cuts will go to families making under $150k per year, those making between $150k and $250k per year will have no change in their taxes, and those making over $250k per year will have a 3.6% increase in only their income above $250k.

So if you earn $350k, you will pay 3.6% more on $100k of your income.
So was Obama just blowing smoke up our asses when he said he would cut taxes for those making under $200K? I can understand the argument that Obama wasn't saying that he was going to give a tax break to those making under $250K, but now he's reducing that number. Haven't checked out the website, but my understanding from his commercials, it's under $200K. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-SavgJlBLA. Skip to about the 30 second mark and you'll see the commercial. It's a right wing video, but the quote is straight from Obama's mouth. Another one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUomLMA3vVQ. Skip to about the 26 second mark.

Remember i said try not to

believe every little thing you read?

This statement has nothing to do with

weather he said it or not.

It has to do with weather he can

make it happen.

My sense regarding this matter is

Mr. Obama is only one person and

cannot pass laws by himself.

And like other candidates he throws

a lot of information out there.

Knowing that (which we all do)

Why hang on every negative word

coming out of his mouth as if it is

already the law? It isn't....

McCain say's no new taxes. That's

a noble campaign promise. I has been

said before. Remember the promise?

"READ MY LIPS NO NEW TAXES"

So much for campaign promises!!!!!
The economy and our money are probably the most important issues facing most people. These promises are what is giving Obama the support he has. Are you saying that we shouldn't believe anything either of these candidates say? The Read My Lips quote helped the first Bush get elected and we saw what happened to the first Bush after he made that false promise. Except Obama is promising to give us money back by cutting our taxes. If he is lying about this, then he's no better than Bush #1. Do we want to give him 4 years if he's lying just like Bush #1 did? As Lakai said, Obama will have a Dem Congress that might have a super majority, in which case, he should be able to get his plans passed since they'll be able to block any Rep filibuster.
