He got elected because he was competing against "old guard looking", "non charismatic" McCain.
Had Romney been the REP choice, especially with the econ going the way it is, the results would have been different. But the Radical Right couldn't have a Mormon leader

Not sure what this proves, some uninformed people voted for him?
I know tons informed democratics that voted for him, really think it a cheap shot. I saw a post on another site with a purple pimp out Air Force One, it was funny but smelled of racism.

I live in Illinois; came back here after I retired from the military. The odd thing about Illinois is if you are not backed by the Chicago political machine then you will NEVER hold any significant office in Illinois. I see what Chicago has done to Illinois; it will be interesting to see what it does now that it will run the country.
