My support for universal health care coverage doesn't come with blinders that suggest everything is perfect in our current system, far from it. That doesn't mean I would discard it, given the choice.

I don't think many American's believe the myths..however Michael Moore and a few others who think the USA's systems sucks sewer water.....do. Anytime they are presented with facts going the other way from the people that live there or..um..DOCTORS..they tend to switch the question around/rephrase/redirect/ignore.

I don't understand why are we criticizing or comparing to Canada's health care system? to make us feel better about our own??

Give it a rest...our country will never match the likes of France and other top 'health care' providing countries...so why argue and insult each other over it

I've never heard of someone getting real sick and rushing off to France to be treated. The US health care system might be dysfunctional but if you can afford the care it is the best the world has to offer.

The problem is that most people cannot afford it. Those who can only afford to get an HMO will get slightly substandard care, and those who cannot even afford an HMO will get barely any care at all. Those who can pay cash for the services they need will get the best care in the world.

Unfortunately for the United States, the World Health Organization ranks health care systems based on the care the average person receives. And that is why we receive such a low ranking.

Sorry, I knew that. My use of the word blinders wasn't in response to your post. We just have similar vocabularies...

I think a lot of Americans do believe the myths.

I also don't think that Michael Moore is trying to present a balanced view, he is trying to shock people into changing.
