This is why Government should not get more of our money
$351,807 to replace and upgrade a dumbwaiter at the Department of Veterans Affairs. I'm all for giving to our Veterans but this benefits the government employees. I say give that money to REAL Veteran programs instead.

What would happen if:
1) The US gov't shut down. Divide all military assets and send them to the states. No more Federal tax on your paychecks, let the states make the rules....? 2) The US gov't declares bankruptcy. Renegotiate all debt (like the car companies) for pennies on the dollar, then start over with a balanced budget amendment....? |

And just who would make the decisions to accomplish what you propose?
The same men who are trying to accomplish the impossible? I can see it now. Let the California legislator make the rules........OMG :Quote:

1) you'd have 50 new countries of which about 4 would have a real military
2) Anarchy Not good choices. IMO the federal governments only concern should be defense. That is it. Let the states fend for themselves with protection at a larger level so they all can remain independent to do what they wish.

If you don't like the way things are in Californication, you could move to a state with more conservative laws / people / culture. Like Texas. Or just divide Cali into two states. Northern California and Southern California. The people are different, aren't they?
Seems like the US gov't is unecessary on so many levels. National defense, yes. I think my point was that the US gov't is (and has been for a long time) very socialist. Take from the masses (the rich masses) and give to the poor. Every system works this way, but we (Obama) seem to be headed to a huge mess with massive gov't intervention in every aspect of our lives. Can we fix health care? Yes, but at a cost that we will eventually implode. Economic meltdown. THAT would cause anarchy! Last edited by Viperfreak2; 07-21-2009 at 10:08 AM. |
