In my mind respect for the office left with Clinton. He showed no respect for the office, and it was contagious. Smirky jokes still abound.
The treatment the prissy pressies gave George W and the office bordered on criminal disregard for responsible actions under the 1st Amendment.
I think both Obama and the office have received all due respect, especially from the mainstream media who seem to love him no matter what.
Obama's performance, on the other hand, has prompted a lot of criticism. He seems to resent that criticism because he has been treated soooo favorably by his own network - NBC - and the other liberal media.
